Shannon Turner Named New CT Lights Program Director

As girls’ hockey continues to evolve, it is crucial for us to continue to build upon the CT Lights success while adapting our program to meet the changing needs of our players, coaches, and families. To further strengthen this commitment, we are excited to announce that Shannon Turner has been named Program Director of the CT Lights.

Shannon is a retired professional hockey player with a distinguished career, winning gold medals with Team Ontario and representing Canada at international events. She played collegiate hockey at Colgate University and Boston University, earning numerous honors, and spent eight seasons with the Connecticut Whale in the Premier Hockey Federation, where she was a captain and three-time All-Star.

With over a decade of coaching experience, Turner founded the Girls' Varsity Ice Hockey program at Greenwich Country Day School and was the first Director of Stateline Hockey. She is currently an Assistant Coach at Taft School, she is a co-founder of Turner Sports Performance, and a Senior Advisor on the Northern CT Hockey Executive Board.

2024-25 Season News

Northern CT Hockey

As we enter into our 25th season and celebrate our continued growth in girls hockey, we also recognize the changing landscape of competitive boys hockey across the state.

In 2024-25, we will rebrand our program name to Northern CT Hockey Association, expanding our program to offer USA Hockey National Bound and Elite AAA youth boys teams.

Our mission remains the same - to support the development of young athletes through competitive hockey and best-in-class player development!
